Tina has been a good friend for several years, so when we both realized we were pregnant, it was super exciting. But it wasn't until we realized that we also had the same due date that it got really interesting! It was so fantastic to be around to see Tina through her pregnancy, and get to be the one to capture her maternity portraits. Strangely enough, we both just had our babies recently, and as it turned out, we delivered on the same day: July 14th. We were both 5 days overdue. Ah, coincidence! Congratulations to Tina and Daryl and their new little girl, Alyssa. We can't wait for her to have play dates with our little Daphne!

{Rachel + Olivia}

When Rachel graduated this year from the University of Kansas, she chose not just to have her senior portraits done, but she also wanted greatly to include her daughter, Olivia, just one year old. So, dressed in a K.U. cheerleader uniform just her size, Olivia got to get in on the portrait fun, too, and as we wandered around the campus from location to location, she made it clear that she loved being a part of the portrait session. What a sweet little cupcake! Congratulations, Rachel!

The Kansas City Renaissance Festival.

Filled with beggars, royals, wizards, jousters, and, of course, mischief and mayhem, the Festival also manages to bring to life every little girl's dream: faeries.

Covered in faerie dust and complete with enormous sets of wings, these ladies are truly the toast of the faire, and it just so happens that I had the opportunity to photograph two of them: Lauren and Pipa. Two of the sweetest girls you will ever meet, everyone should try to pay them a visit this faire season and take a day - or a whole weekend, even! - to enjoy what wonders the KC Renaissance Festival has to offer. We never miss it! And if you do decide to venture into the faire, keep an eye out, as I might be there with my camera in hand!

{Details - All About Your Session}

For every photographer, there are details you should know before you decide to book your session. Many may ask what equipment a photographer uses, especially for weddings and large events. Starshine Imagery uses CanonDSLR cameras in conjunction with various lengths of lenses and professional grade equipment in order to capture perfect shots.

One photographer may offer you a single printed image for your money's worth, another may offer only a simple set of proof images for you to review so that you can purchase your prints through them and them alone, whereas other photographers may charge extra for sitting fees, image editing, or online albums.

However, this is not the case with Starshine Imagery.

Here, there are no sitting fees, no extra costs for image editing or photo manipulation, not even on optional editing, and you always receive an online album with your finished images. Your session can last as long as you would like {for weddings, this includes an entire day of wedding coverage from start to finish}, include as many people as you like, in as many locations as you choose. There are no limitations.

Many photographers have a turnaround time of 4-6 weeks after your session. Here, every session is promised a one week turnaround time {1-2 weeks for weddings and events}, and when your images are completed, you will be given a link to your online album, which you are free to share with whomever you choose. If you would like any additional editing, you need only let us know and your requests will be granted. No extra charges involved. Then, your finished images will be given to you personally on a disc so that you may print them where you like and as many times as you like with full copyright release, and you never have to order prints through your photographer. So feel free to print, frame, share, and enjoy your photos.

All of the packages are all-inclusive, encompassing all aspects of your session and offering every person the full treatment. Every price is a flat rate so that you never find yourself paying extra for little additions. However, we understand what it's like to be on a budget, so if you would prefer to make payments on your session or have other questions, just let us know and we'll do everything we can to make your photographybeautiful, memorable, and squarely in your budget.
